Hello

My name is Lynsey McCarthy-Calvert and I am PIP candidate for Appleton ward.

I live on Kents Hill Road with my 4 children.  My family have deep roots here.  Since being elected in 2022 I am proud to have represented Appleton Ward and worked to improve services and protect our green belt land.

In May 2023 I was elected as Mayor of Castle Point. My year in office has been incredibly busy, meeting with many people who contribute to making Castle Point a great place to live and work.

I expanded the Mayor's Business Awards to include categories such as the Green Business Award and Young Business-person of the Year to recognise the innovation and ambition that thrives in Castle Point. Having met hundreds of inspiring children and young people this year, I have been motivated to resurrect the Castle Point Borough Youth Council and to introduce a Youth Mayor.

My year serving as Mayor has left me even more motivated to continue the great work PIP have begun and I hope to leave a legacy of civic pride for the future generations of Castle Point.
